How the checker decides
For each place you pick, the checker looks at three kinds of rule on the date you choose: a rule for the product category itself, a ban on intentionally added PFAS in all products, and reporting or labeling duties that cover every product. It shows the strongest one first: a ban in force, then a scheduled ban, a use limit, and a reporting or labeling duty. The related rules under each result list everything else that applies.
Laws count from the day they were signed, so a check of an earlier date shows only what had been enacted by then. Rules a court has blocked are shown as blocked, and proposed rules are left out. Each result links to the entry in the register and its source.
The checker summarizes the register; the cited statute or rule controls, and exemptions, thresholds and definitions differ by state. Not legal advice.
